2026 Field Assessment of New Hampshire’s health equity field

1 min read

Each year, the Behavioral Health Improvement Institute conducts a field-wide assessment to examine the progress of key sectors across New Hampshire. The report is commissioned by the Endowment for Health and reflects BHII’s approach to applied research that centers practitioner perspectives while producing structured, decision-relevant insights.

The 2026 assessment of the health equity field is based on 26-interviews from interested and affected parties and documents patterns related to collaboration, trust, capacity, data use, and infrastructure in the field. Highlights include:

  • The field’s scores have remained relatively stable since the last administration despite political adversity in the past two years.

  • Trust and collaboration are strongest at the local level.

  • Service delivery is strained by provider shortages and varies by region.

  • Leadership is less diverse than the broader workforce.

  • No coordinating body or shared data source connects the field’s efforts.
